From 2016 to 2018 I documented the demise of the iconic Honest Ed’s department store in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood. The structure that spanned a city block was something that was a landmark and provided a sense of place for the community. Hard to believe it’s gone. Loss is a theme in my work and documenting structures and spaces that are forgotten or soon to be demolished feels relevant and important to do.
